Beaches of Hutchinson Island
Coconut Grove

It was an early Saturday morning getting up at 3:00am. I picked up my friend Ivan and drove up to Stuart, FL, to The House of Refuge at Gilbert’s Bar, we arrived at 5am. Sunrise was at 6:30am so we began the almost dangerous task of walking along the limestone jagged beach looking for a place to shoot from in the darkness. On these mornings, it is so dark I cannot see through the view finder. All the setting have to be done manually.  It was so dark – I had no clue if these photos would turn out.

It was very dark and I could not see through my lens so I set my focus manually and hoped for the best. A Distant Storm at House Of Refuge
