Florida Bobcat at Green Cay

Florida Bobcat at Green Cay in Boynton Beach, FL
I went to Green Cay this morning only to sit outside the gate with many other visitors, waiting for the preserve to open. I guess the person forgot to reset their clock for daylight savings time. When that gate finally opened, everyone immediately parked and I could see a number of photographers scramble to get into the preserve. I grabbed my gear and backpack and walked around the boardwalk to see what I could find. I went to a spot where there were other photographers. It was about 8:00am when one person started clicking away, then another, and another….. no words were said as the Bobcat carefully walked along one side of the berm. It was great to finally see the Bobcat.
After trying many times to capture the Bobcat at Green Cay, I finally caught it.

Screech Owl of Green Cay

My wife and I went to Green Cay Nature Wetlands in Boynton Beach, FL this morning so I could search for the Screech owls that nest there and to take a walk. The morning was just beautiful, with the temperature around 70 degrees and the sun was shining brightly. We walked around the boardwalk to the area where the screech owl is known to roost. I spent about 15-20 minutes looking at different trees and branches. A nesting box that had been hung there, but it became a beehive when the bees inhabited it. When I was about to give up, I checked one last tree I had pasted just along side the boardwalk before I reached the area and there the little owl was perched. Blending in to its surrounding. It made my day finding it!
